Water Move Xylem Chain Evaporates Leaves Cohesion Means

Front How does water move up the xylem?
Back Water evaporates in the leaves and cohesion means that the water molecules form a weak "chain" that will be pulled upwards and outwards. Adhesion to the xylem walls ensures that the "chain" does not move downwards.
