Cells Specialized Epithelial Type Intestinal Epithelium Peyer’s Patches

Specialized epithelial cells found in the intestinal lining over Peyer's patches. Their primary function is to transport antigens and pathogens from the gut lumen into the underlying lymphoid tissue. These are known as M cells or microfold cells.

Célula epitelial especializada en el epitelio intestinal sobre las placas de Peyer, a través de la cual los antígenos y patógenos entran desde el intestino. Estas células son conocidas como células M o micropliegues.
