A type of innate lymphoid cell (ILC) important in innate immunity against viruses and other intracellular pathogens, and in antibody-dependent cell-mediated cytotoxicity (ADCC). These cells express activating and inhibitory receptors, but lack the antigen-specific receptors found on T or B cells.
