Inositol Kinase Transcription Factor Soluble Messenger Produced Cleavage

Jun kinase is a protein kinase that phosphorylates the transcription factor c-Jun, enabling it to bind c-Fos to form the AP-1 transcription factor. Inositol 1,4,5-trisphosphate (IP3) is a soluble second messenger produced by cleavage of membrane inositol phospholipids by phospholipase C-γ, acting on ER membrane receptors to release stored Ca2+ into the cytosol.
