Sirolimus (also called rapamycin) is an immunosuppressive drug that blocks intracellular signaling pathways involving the serine/threonine kinase mammalian target of rapamycin (mTOR), required for the inhibition of apoptosis and T-cell expansion.
Sirolimus (ook wel rapamycine genoemd) is een immunosuppressief geneesmiddel dat intracellulaire signaalroutes blokkeert die de serine/threonine kinase mammalian target of rapamycin (mTOR) omvatten. Deze zijn essentieel voor de remming van apoptose en T-cel expansie.
