Serine/Threonine Kinase Activated Ifn α Ifn β Phosphorylates Eukaryotic Protein

PKR is a serine/threonine kinase activated by IFN-α and IFN-β. It phosphorylates the eukaryotic protein synthesis initiation factor eIF-2, inhibiting translation and thus contributing to the inhibition of viral replication.
