1) Relay station for incoming sensory information except smell

Hypothalamus:

1) ventromedial hypothalamus promotes satiety
2) lateral hypothalamus promotes hunger
3) anterior hypothalamus controls sexual behavior
4) osmoreceptors trigger release of antidiuretic hormone

Posterior Pituitary

1) releases Antidiuretic hormone
2) releases Vasopression/Oxytocin

Pineal Gland

1) sunlight-->retina-->Pineal releases melatonin
