Sensorimotor Stage:

1) primary circular reactions - soothing
2) secondary circular reactions - environmental response
3) Object Permanence marks beginning of representational thought - mental representations of external objects/events
4) 0-2::age

Preoperational Stage:

1) Symbolic Thinking - pretend/play make-believe/imagination 
2) Centration - Focus on only one aspect of a phenomenon, pizza slice
3) Egocentrism - inability to imagine what someone thinks/feels
4) 2-7::age

Concrete Operational Stage:

1) Egocentrism ends
2) Conservation - quantity will remain same despite adjustment of container/shape/size
3) 7-11::age

Formal Operational Stage:

1) pendulum experiment - separates concrete/formal operational phases; adolescents will measure 1 variable at a time
2) abstract thinking
3) 11+::age
