The zones surrounding oocytes are the zona pellucida and corona radiata. The zona pellucida protects the oocyte and facilitates sperm binding, while penetration of the corona radiata by acrosomal enzymes triggers Meiosis 2.
Le zone che circondano gli oociti sono la zona pellucida e la corona radiata. La zona pellucida protegge l'oocita e facilita il legame degli spermatozoi, mentre la corona radiata, se superata dagli enzimi acrosomiali, innesca la meiosi 2.
Text | The zones surrounding oocytes are called the zona pellucida and the corona radiata The zona pellucida surrounds the oocyte, is a cellular, and is a mixture of glyocproteins that protect the oocyte and contain compounds necessary for sperm cell binding The corona radiata is outside the zona pellucida and is a layer of cells that adhered to the oocyte during ovulation. When this layer is breached by acrosomal enzymes from sperm cells meiosis 2 is triggered. |
