E Coli: EHEC: The three H's of EHEC (Enterohemorrhagic Escherichia coli) refer to the diseases caused by the O157:H7 strain, which are Hemorrhage, Uremia, and Thrombocytopenia. Hemolytic Uremic Syndrome (HUS) is a major cause of acute kidney failure in children and can be fatal.
