Mycoplasma pneumoniae is a pleomorphic bacterium lacking a cell wall, causing atypical pneumonia with a dry cough. It produces cold agglutinins (IgM) and is treated with macrolides or doxycycline.

Mycoplasma pneumoniae es una bacteria pleomorfa sin pared celular, lo que la hace resistente a los betalactámicos. Produce aglutininas frías (IgM) y causa neumonía atípica con tos seca y parches de infiltrado. El tratamiento incluye macrólidos o doxiciclina.
