Flucytosine inhibits fungal DNA and RNA synthesis by converting to 5-FU, which then inhibits thymidylate synthase. It is used for systemic Candida infections and cryptococcal meningitis (with amphotericin B).
Flucitozin inhibira sintezu gljivične DNK i RNK, pretvarajući se u 5-FU, koji zauzvrat inhibira timirilat sintazu. Koristi se za sistemske infekcije kandide i kriptokokni meningitis (sa amfotericinom B).
