Enterotoxigenic E. coli (ETEC) is a common bacterium that causes diarrhea and fluid loss by secreting toxins, often known as 'traveler's diarrhea'.

Enterotoksijenik E. coli (ETEC), genellikle 'seyahat ishali' olarak bilinen, toksin salgılayarak ishal ve elektrolit kaybına neden olan yaygın bir bakteridir.

Toxin = damage mucosal cells, secretion of water and electrolytes
- Heat labile (LT) toxin= increase cAMP 
- Heat Stable (ST) toxin – increase cGMP= more severe 

Symptoms: Nausea, no-low fever 
- Travelers diarrhea 
Last 24-48 hours 
Non-invasive (do not enter cells)
