Dicot stems are without bundle sheath; monocot stems have sclerenchymatous bundle sheaths. Roots lack bundle sheaths. Dicot leaves have a bundle sheath with parenchymatous or collenchymatous patches; monocot leaves have a bundle sheath with sclerenchymatous cell patches.
