Gametes in all heterogametic species are haploid and formed via mitotic division if the parent is haploid, or meiotic division if the parent is diploid.
Divisione cellulare durante la formazione dei gameti: I gameti in tutte le specie eterogame sono di due tipi: maschile e femminile. I gameti sono aploidi, anche se il corpo della pianta madre da cui originano può essere aploide o diploide. Un genitore aploide produce gameti per divisione mitotica.
