Stage Consists Protonema Develops Branched Predominant Life Cycle

The predominant stage of a moss (bryophyte) life cycle is the gametophyte, consisting of two stages: protonema stage (creeping, green, branched, filamentous, develops from spore) and leafy stage (develops from a lateral bud, has erect slender axes with spirally arranged leaves anchored by rhizoids, bears sex organs).
