Adrenaline and noradrenaline act synergistically to increase blood pressure, causing vasodilation in skeletal muscles (adrenaline) and peripheral vasoconstriction (noradrenaline).
La adrenalina y noradrenalina actúan sinérgicamente para aumentar la presión arterial, con efectos como vasodilatación en músculos esqueléticos (adrenalina) y vasoconstricción periférica (noradrenalina).
Front | Functions of adrenaline & noradrenaline the two hormones act _____lly? |
---|---|
Back | Adrenaline: (more potent) • Vasodilation in skeletal muscles • Bronchial dilation • Increased blood flow • Stimulation of metabolic activities Noradrenaline: • Vasoconstriction in periphery (eg gut) Overall: Act synergistically and cause an increase in blood pressure. Other effects: • Release of glucose from liver glycogen • Reinforce the sympathetic nervous system Note: they also act as excitatory neurotransmitters |
