Tumors on pancreatic beta-cells can cause excessive glucagon secretion, leading to hyperglycemia and further damaging the beta-cells.
Abnormität der Tumorproduktion in den Langerhans-Inseln: Tumore können auf β-Zellen entstehen. Sie verursachen übermäßige Glukagonsekretion, was zu einem hohen Blutzuckerspiegel (ähnlich wie Diabetes) führt. Dieser Hyperglykämie schädigt weiter die β-Zellen der Bauchspeicheldrüse.
