The tertiary structure of proteins is stabilized by hydrogen bonds, ionic bonds, and disulfide bridges, along with hydrophobic and hydrophilic interactions.
Front | Bonding involved in tertiary structure of proteins |
---|---|
Back | H-bonding Ionic Disulphide (Hydrophobic & hydrophilic properties are involved too) ( eg in aqueous environment the most stable tertiary conformation is that in which hydrophobic amino acids are buried inside while the hydrophilic are on the surface) |
