RNA polymerase I produces rRNA, II produces mRNA, and III produces tRNA; prokaryotes utilize a single RNA polymerase for all synthesis.
RNA polymerase 1 synthesizes rRNA, RNA polymerase 2 synthesizes mRNA, and RNA polymerase 3 synthesizes tRNA. In prokaryotes, a single RNA polymerase synthesizes all three RNA types.
