Transgenic animals are produced by micro-injecting foreign genes into animal eggs or via vortex mixing, where eggs are agitated with SiC needles to create holes for DNA entry. Resulting zygotes are fertilized in vitro and placed in host females for development.

Back | 1) Micro inject foreign genes into animal *eggs* by hand. 2) Vortex mixing: Eggs are placed in an *agitator* with SiC needles, which make tiny holes through which DNA can enter. → After in-vitro fertilization, the zygotes are placed in host females for development. |
