The mental filter fallacy (also called selective abstraction) occurs when you pay undue attention to one negative detail while ignoring all positive aspects. For example, someone might believe they will be fired due to a single negative comment on a performance review, despite overall high ratings.
El error de filtro mental (o abstracción selectiva) ocurre cuando solo se presta atención a un detalle negativo, ignorando todos los aspectos positivos. Por ejemplo, alguien podría pensar que será despedido por un solo comentario negativo en una evaluación de desempeño, a pesar de las altas calificaciones generales.
