Blood Nuclei Enzymes Differentiated Cells Animals 2.1.6(h Specialised

This card discusses specialized animal cell differentiation, providing examples of erythrocytes, neutrophils, and sperm cells along with their specific adaptations.

Tato karta popisuje specializovaná zvířecí buněčná diferenciace a uvádí příklady červených krvinek (erytrocytů), neutrofilů a spermií, včetně jejich adaptací.

Front Differentiated cells in animals 2.1.6(h)
Back Specialised to carry out a function

erythrocytes (red blood cells)
- Biconcave shape to up SA:V
- no nuclei (more packing of haemoglobin)
- flexible (squeeze through narrow capillaries)

Neutrophils (white blood cells)
- multi lobed nuclei (easier to fit through small gaps)
- granular cytoplasm (lysosomes with enzymes against pathogens)

Sperm cell
- haploid
- flagellum with lots of mitochondria
- acrosome with digestive enzymes to digest protective layers around ovum
