reused so cheaper (immobalised enzymes held stationary so recovered and reused)
less downstream processing (as easily seperated from reactants/products and doesnt contaminate product) so cheaper
greater temp tolerance (denatures less easily in heat and have wider range of optimum temps, so cheaper to run bioreactor)

disadvantages;

less efficient (rate of activity lower)
higher initial cost of raw materials (immobalised more expensive but enzymes dont need replacing frequently)
bioreactor expensive (immobalised need more expensive bioreactors rather than typical fermentors)
