Lactate Lactic Acid Pyruvate H2 Nad Converted O2

Front lactate fermentation
Back - pyruvate acts as H2 acceptor, accept H2 from reduced NAD under lactate dehydrogenase, pyruvate converted into lactate, NAD returns to glycolysis to keep it going (keep forming ATP), lactate converted into glucose in liver which requires O2 which is why you have O2 debt after excercise

- process not indefinate as not enough ATP formed to supply reactions, also build up of lactic acid can lower pH, denaturing enzymes, and preventing respiratory enzymes and muscle filaments functioning

- lactic acid removed from muscles and taken to liver, if inc blood supply and flow through muscles, more lactic acid removed and so improves duration and intensity of excercise
