Lowland Water Bogs Decline Conserve Peats Conserved Maintain

Front lowland bogs, why they are in decline, how to conserve lowland peats
Back lowland bogs need to be conserved to maintain biodiversity, main reasons for decline is afforestation (establishment of forrest in areas they werent previously present) and peat extraction (both dried out the bogs)

conserved lowland bogs by maintaining and restoring water levels
- ensure peat/vegetation wet and undisturbed, ditches which allow water to run off from floods closed
- controlling grazing to inc bio and inc habitats
- removal of seedling trees (high water needs)
