Modified Translation Gene Regulated Transcriptional Turned On/Off Post Transcriptional

Gene regulation mechanisms operate at transcriptional, post-transcriptional, translational, and post-translational levels to control gene expression.

Gene regulation occurs at multiple levels: transcriptional (turning genes on/off), post-transcriptional (modifying mRNA), translational (controlling protein synthesis), and post-translational (modifying proteins after synthesis).

Front How is a gene regulated?
Back
  • Transcriptional - genes can be turned on/off
  • Post-transcriptional - mRNA modified so regulates translation
  • Translational - translation stopped/started
  • Post-translational - proteins modified after synthesis (changing function)
