Nh3 N2 Atm Living Non Living Processes N2 Fixing Bacteria

Front N2 cycle
Back - N2 in atm fixed by living organisms or non-living processes, if by living organisms, its either by mutualistic N2-fixing bacteria in root nodules or by free-living N2-fixing bacteria in soil to form NH3, if by non-living processes, its by either lightning or haber process into NH3

- NH3 nitrified into nitrites, which is nitrified into nitrates, which are either taken up by plants or released back into atm as N2, if released into atm, its denitrified

- if taken up by plants, these are passed onto animals, and then ammonification occurs to release NH3
