Pop Temp High O2 Low Enzymes Waste Formed
Front |
limiting factors affecting expo growth rate of bacteria |
Back |
- nutrients (becomes used up and eventually insufficient to support further growth/repro)
- O2 levels (demand for O2 inc as pop inc)
- temp (enzyme-controlled reactions, low temp low activity, high temp high activity but microorganism dies if too high as it denatures enzymes)
- build up of waste (as pop inc, more waste formed which inhibits further growth)
- pH (CO2 formed by respiration inc as pop inc, pH falls and affects enzymes)
