Responses Core Hypothalamus Heat Centre Activated Temp Blood

Front Controlling thermoregulation
Back
  • physiological responses to changes in core temperature caused by negative feedback control from hypothalamus (2 centres)
  • heat loss centre (activated when temp of blood flowing through hypothalamus increases, sending impulse through autonomous motor neurones to effectors in skin and muscles resulting in responses that lower core temp)
  • heat gain centre (activated when temp of blood flowing through hypothalamus decreases, sending impulses through ANS to effectors in skin and muscles resulting in responses that raise core temp)
