Species Areas Situ Allowing Preserves Wildlife Time 4.2.1(h

Front in situ 4.2.1(h)
Back
In situ
- maintains genetic diversity of species and evolutionary adaptations enabling adaptation to changing enviro, allowing endangered species to interact with other species, it preserves interdependent relationships, which also preserves interlinked species, generally cheaper than Ex situ
- wildlife areas require active management in designated wildlife reserve;
 - feeding animals (more organisms survive to repro age)
 - reintroduction of species (adding species to locally extinct areas, or whose numbers have dropped sig)
 - controlled grazing (only allowing livestock to graze area of land for certain period of time to allow species time to recover)
- marine conservation zones are vital in preserving species-rich areas (like coral reefs) which are devastated by non-sustainable fishing methods, purpose is to create areas of refuge so pops can build and repop other areas
