Back ● Iris melanomas make up 3-5%% of all uveal melanomas ● Low mortality: 1-4% ● Risk factors: ○ Light skin, light iris, oculodermal melanocytosis in daily pigmented patents ● Most are spindle cell melanomas, unlike choroidal melanomas which are mostly mixed ● Can cause extrascleral extension and seeding/secondary glaucoma which can be treated with local radiation or enucleation ● Indication for excision is growth involving the angle/TM up to 3-4 clock hours
