Neutrophils Acute Inflammation Severe Rapidly Consumed Site Injury

If acute inflammation is so severe that neutrophils are rapidly consumed at the injury site, it can lead to neutropenia, a decreased number of mature neutrophils in the blood because the bone marrow cannot keep up with the demand.

Neutropenia - todos os neutrófilos possíveis foram liberados, a medula óssea não consegue acompanhar = diminuição do número de neutrófilos maduros no sangue (estão todos no tecido!).

Back Neutropenia - all neutrophils possible have been let out, bone marrow can't keep up = decreased number of mature neutrophils into the blood (they are all in the tissue!)
