Neutrophils Left Shift Acute Cellular Response Inflammation Shifting

A 'left shift' in terms of cellular response to inflammation means a shift towards immature neutrophils entering the blood, as mature neutrophils are actively fighting at the injury site.

What does a "left shift" mean with regards to acute cellular response to inflammation?
Back Shifting to the left in terms of maturation (life cycle stage of the cell) --> Mature neutrophils are busy killing things in the tissue, so to replenish circulatory concentration, macrophages will call immature neutrophils into the blood.
