And We will surely let them taste the nearer punishment[1175] short of the greater punishment that perhaps they will return [i.e., repent]. وَلَنُذِيقَنَّهُم مِّنَ ٱلْعَذَابِ ٱلْأَدْنَىٰ دُونَ ٱلْعَذَابِ ٱلْأَكْبَرِ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَرْجِعُونَ 21

Accepted Answer

[1175] i.e., the disasters and calamities of this world. as-Sajdah Part 21

Translation	And We will surely let them taste the nearer punishment[1175] short of the greater punishment that perhaps they will return [i.e., repent].
