| Translation | And he turned away from them and said, ''Oh, my sorrow over Joseph,'' and his eyes became white[614] from grief, for he was [of that] a suppressor.[615] |

| Footnote | [614] i.e., he lost his sight. [615] He did not express the extent of his grief or his anger at what he suspected his sons had done but was patient, depending only upon Allāh for help. |
