Electrons Anion Cation Gain Lose

Anions are atoms or molecules that have gained electrons and possess a negative charge, whereas cations have lost electrons and carry a positive charge.

Anions are negatively charged ions formed by gaining electrons, while cations are positively charged ions formed by losing electrons.
