| Notes | Some verbs and adjectives with 르-ending stems are conjugated according to the irregular 러 conjugation rules (러 불규칙 활용). The 르 → 르러 conjugation rule applies when the 르-ending stem is followed by -아/어~ principle. There are irregular 르 words that can be conjugated in accordance with 르 불규칙 활용 or 러 불규칙 활용 depending on their given meaning. 이르다 as an adjective (early) and a verb (to say) obeys 르 → ㄹㄹ conjugation rules: 이르다 → 일러요, 이릅니다, 일러서, 이르면, 이르니까, 이른 이르다 as a verb meaning 'to reach' is conjugated according to 르 → 르러 principle: 이르다 → 이르러요, 이릅니다, 이르러서, 이르러면, 이르러니까, 이르런 Other examples of 러 irregulars include: 푸르다 blue, sharp (→ 푸르러요) 노르다/누르다 yellow (→ 노르러요/누르러요) |
