Adjective examples: 
덥다 warm
가깝다 near/close

Verb examples:
눕다 to lie down
여쭙다 to tell (to a superior)

Special cases:
돕다 to help
곱다 pretty, stiff/numb with cold
굽다 bent/crooked, to grill

Exception examples:
좁다 narrow
입다 to wear
씹다 to chew
뽑다 to pull out

ㅂ in the stem changes to 우 if the attached ending begins with a vowel.
The principle is then added in accordance with regular conjugation rules for stems ending in a vowel. In particular, the -(으)~ part is dropped from principles such as -(으)면 or -(으)니까.

ㅂ changes to 오 only in the case of 곱다 and 돕다 and only when the -아/어~ type of ending is attached. When 곱- and 돕- are followed by any other vowel different from ㅏ and ㅓthe above mentioned rule ㅂ → 우 takes place.
