Back | Would you care for another cup of coffee? |
Notes | -(으)ㄹ래(요) can be used in questions when asking about the listener's preferences or intentions or when gently requesting to do something. The meaning of -(으)ㄹ래(요)? corresponds to 'How about ... ?', 'Do you want to ... ?' or 'Would you like to ... ?'. Questions with -(으)ㄹ래요? or -(으)실래요? does not sound as polite as questions with -(으)시겠어요? and thus can be addressed only to intimates. Questions with negative forms -지 않을래요? and 안 -(으)ㄹ래요? convey the same meaning as with -(으)ㄹ래요? I.e., the negative case does not pass into translation. |
