Increased CO2 shifts the oxygen dissociation curve to the right (decreasing hemoglobin's affinity for O2). This happens because H+ ions from carbonic acid formation compete with O2 for binding sites on hemoglobin, causing hemoglobin to release O2 more readily.
El aumento del CO2 desplaza la curva de disociación de oxígeno hacia la derecha (disminuyendo la afinidad de la hemoglobina por el O2).
