Somatic gene therapy is only a temporary fix because somatic cells have a limited lifespan and are replaced by stem cells with faulty alleles, unlike germ line cell therapy which can pass on healthy alleles with every cell division.
| Front | Explain why somatic gene therapy can only be a termporary fix whereas germ line cell therapy can potentially be a cure. |
