Front | Describe how a zoetrope operates. |
---|---|
Back | The zoetrope works much like the phinakistoscope, except instead of a flat disk being rotated, a strip of images is fit into a round slitted drum. When the drum is spun, the slits act as shutters and each individual image is viewed in sequence, creating movement. The zoetrope allows different strips to be interchanged with each other as well. |
