Front | Describe how a Praxinoscope operates. |
---|---|
Back | The praxinoscope operates as a strip of images are laid into a solid drum, which has a wheel of mirrors within. When the wheel is spun, each mirror reflects one image, so as when the next mirror moves in front of the eye, there is a blank space between images. The sharp angles of the mirror act in this way as the slits of other devices or shutters on a camera/projector would, creating movt based on the persistence of vision. |
