Chyme Duodenum Intestinal Phase Triggered Enters Release Cck

The intestinal phase triggers chyme entry into the duodenum, leading to the release of CCK and secretin to inhibit gastric activity. Consequently, gastric secretions decrease and the pyloric sphincter tightens to allow the duodenum time to process the chyme.

Text In the Intestinal phase
•Triggered when chyme enters the duodenum
•Duodenum release CCK and secretin to inhibit gastric activity
•Net effect of intestinal phase is
–Gastric secretions decline
–Pyloric sphincter close tightly to limit chyme entering the duodenum
•This gives duodenum time to work on chyme
