A neuron's membrane is positively charged externally and negatively charged internally at rest due to ion distribution differences.
In its resting state, a neuron's membrane is positively charged on the outside and negatively charged on the inside due to an unequal distribution of ions.
Front | Resting state of neurone |
---|---|
Back | Outside of membrane positively charged compared to inside, more positive ions outside the cell than inside |
