Back | This is the second step in patient assessment. It begins when you greet your patient, and has a single goal: to identify and initiate treatment of immediate or potential life threats. It stages are: 1) Form a general impression. 2) Assess level of consciousness 3) Assess the airway: identify and treat life threats. 4) Assess the breathing: identify and treat life threats. 5) Assess circulation: identify and treat life threats. 6) Perform rapid scan. And 7) Determine priority of patient care and transport. |
