Sample Solution Biuret Food Cm List Steps Detail

To perform the Biuret test, prepare a food sample, add 2 cm³ of biuret solution, and shake. If protein is present, the solution will change from blue to pink/purple; otherwise, it will remain blue.

  1. Prepare the food sample and transfer 2 cm3 of the sample to a test tube.
  2. Add 2 cm3 of biuret solution to the sample and shake the tube to mix it.
  3. If the food sample contains protein, the solution will change from blue to pink/purple. 
  4. If no protein is present, the solution will stay blue.
