Heuristics: 
 
1) Availability heuristics - how similar things fit into schemas we can readily imagine; 3rd letter k vs 1st letter k
2) Representative heuristic - how well they fit intostereotypical categories
3) Base rate fallacy - ignoring statistical information & using stereotypical factors

Overconfidence:

1) Disconfirmation principle - discarding solution that fails to work
2) Confirmation bias - focus on information that fits an individual's beliefs
3) Overconfidence - interpret knowledge/beliefs as infallible

Intuition - act on perceptions not based upon supported evidence
Recognition-primed decision model - pattern recognition
