--excessive stereotyping - construction of stereotypes against outside opinions
--Pressure for conformity - viewing opposition as disloyal
--Self-censorship - withholding ideas against the group
--Illusion of unanimity - false agreement within group
--Mindguards - appointed people to protect ideas
